What else could you need? Food of course! And they wonโt disappoint in this department. With cuisine from every corner of the globe, youโll never go hungry (or thirsty) here! Executive Chef Martin Luthi has more than 30 years experience and has been overseeing the 132 chefs and 104 kitchen crew members at The Fairmont Banff Springs since 1980. Known simply as โThe Chef,โ the Swiss-born Luthi makes sure that everything moves smoothly for all the 1.3 million meals served here yearly. Read below for descriptions of the restaurants on site. Banffshire Club This elegant restaurant serves innovative North American cuisine. Chef Cory Ledrewโs menu features premium meats cooked on a maple wood grill. The restaurant has won the AAA/CAA Four Diamond and Mobile Four Star awards. Entrees generally cost between $37 and $59. Closed Sundays and Mondays. Phone: 403-762-6860 Bow Valley Grill Beautiful mountain views and a menu full of fresh market cuisine attract diners to this restaurant. The menu changes according to the season and includes rotisserie meats and a variety of fresh seafood. Their breads are baked on-site in their open kitchen, as are their decadent desserts. Buffet breakfasts are $27; weekend brunches are $39.50 for adults and $14.50 for children ages 6-12. Phone: 403-762-6860 Castello Ristorante This restaurant serves cuisine from Italy in an elegant setting. Try their pizzas, pastas, or Portobello, port tenderloin, lamb or veal Saltimbocca. Donโt forget the Limoncello! Main courses cost between $28 and $39. They are open from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday through Tuesday. Their offerings include fresh sushi, sashimi and Japanese hot pots like shabu-shabu and sukiyaki. Open from Thursday to Monday. Phone: (403) 762-6860 Golf Course Clubhouse The Clubhouse serves great meals from The Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course. Itโs worth it to go, if even for the view! The celebrated Stanley Thompson fairways, ice melt streams and gorgeous Rocky Mountain Peaks extend in every direction. Shuttles are available every half-hour from the hotel to the clubhouse. Come to Waldhaus (โHouse in the Forestโ) for venison, trout, schnitzel and beef tenderloin. Or try one of their cheese, beef or chocolate fondues. Main dishes usually cost between $28 and $38. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Phone: (403) 762-6860 Waldhaus Pub The Waldhaus Pub is located beneath the Waldhaus Restaurant. It offers a relaxed, casual atmosphere and a great beer menu! Their food menu isnโt too shabby either, with gourmet burgers, wraps and sandwiches, steak and frites, and of course, some German bratwurst. Flat screen TVs, a pool table and a dartboard are there to entertain. Open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday. Please note that the Waldhaus Pub is not wheelchair accessible at this time. Reservations are not required. Rundle Lounge This Fairmont Banff Springs spot is sunny during the day and intimate at night. Have a drink in this cozy setting, whether you prefer fine wines, international beers or aged scotches or ports. Food is also available. Open from 11:30 a.m. to midnight daily. Reservations are not required. Ramsay Lounge The Ramsay Lounge is a great place to enjoy a pre or post-dinner cocktail. They have an extensive menu of ports, scotches and cocktails. Open from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday to Tuesday. Food also available. Reservations are not required. Grapes Wine Bar This wine bar/bistro is a great place to savor a glass of Canadian wine. The bistro side offers fondue, pate, cheese, salads and specials made from local foods. Entrees generally run between $22 and $44. They are open from 6 p.m to 10 p.m. daily. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the role, having spent many years working in the golf industry. Schultz has been a member of the Canmore Golf & Curling Club for over 40 years and has been actively involved in the clubโs operations since he joined.
