Banff Lodging of the Month – the Banff Caribou Lodge & Spa

The Banff Caribou Lodge & Spa – Banff, Alberta

When I visit the hotels of Banff, Canmore and Jasper for you, my distinguished readers, I always try to be as honest as possible with my experiences. However, even if there was anything wrong with the Banff Caribou Lodge & Spa, I would struggle to write it because the staff was just too friendly! After a long day of skiing and dog sledding, there are few places I have returned to and felt more welcome.

Aside from the ever-accommodating staff who might well have assassinated my sister in law for me had I asked nicely, there are many things that make the Caribou my Banff lodging of the month. The Wi-Fi access around the hotel is excellent meaning I never had to leave the hotel for business / to answer dating agency responses. Also The Keg, the onsite restaurant, is one of the best around Banff. Anybody who has skied the slopes of Banff before will know that the hunger you build up demands generous portions and The Keg somehow manages to serve up more than even a pig like me could manage to finish! With the outside temperature cold enough to freeze the devil, the incredibly, incredibly comfortable, warm beds were screaming for their occupant.

Although some may see it as a downside, the Caribou Lodge is about 10 minutes walk from Banff townsite. In my eyes, it is a pleasure to be slightly outside town away from the hustle and bustle. The staff will give you a free bus pass should you want it anyway. With Banff National Park on your doorstep along with some of the best skiing in winter and hiking in summer, the Caribou is an ideal affordable lodge to spend your time.
